MARC alum Lea Colchado has been awarded a 2022 Gloria Anzaldúa Rhetorician Award by the Conference on College Composition and Communication. The award supports scholars whose work participates in the making of meaning out of sexual and gender minority experiences. Colchado is currently a doctoral student at the University of Houston.

MFA students Alejandro Sobalvarro and Chisom Ogoke have been selected as semi-finalists for the Fulbright U.S. Student award. They are pursuing the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) and Study/Research awards, respectively, for the 2022-2023 grant period.
